Community Message: Parking in The Groves – Please Read

Dear Residents and Visitors of The Groves,

We would like to remind everyone to be mindful of parking arrangements within The Groves area of York, particularly around residential streets and gated alleyways.

🚗 Parking on Residential Streets

Please ensure that vehicles are parked:

Many streets in The Groves are narrow, and poor parking can cause significant inconvenience to residents and service vehicles.

🔒 Gated Alleyways – No Parking or Obstruction

Gated alleyways are not parking spaces and must be kept clear at all times. These alleyways are:

Parking in, blocking, or obstructing gated alleys can:

✅ Please Do:

✔ Check signage and road markings before parking
✔ Use designated parking areas where available
✔ Consider neighbours, especially those with limited mobility

❌ Please Don’t:

✘ Park in gated alleyways or across alley entrances
✘ Block access routes or bin collection points
✘ Assume unattended areas are permitted parking spaces
